This past weekend I got really sick. Either food poisoning or some sort of bug, either way I was puking my brains out at least once an hour for about 15 hours.
Normally throwing up doesn't bother me too much, just get it done and hopefully feel better. But this was different. For one, it was a very violent sickness; and two, I didn't know how it would be impacting little baby Buchan. I tried to stay hydrated but nothing I took in stayed in for very long, so baby was getting a crazy rollercoaster ride and not much else. He kept kicking during the downtime so I took that as a good sign and just tried to rest as much as possible.
The nicest part of the whole experience was that Ryan and I were up at the Tulalip Casino Hotel helping to take care of Sable while Lara and Walker were at a birthday party. Luckily I didn't get sick until we were in our own room for the night and it was delightful to have such a clean bathroom to throw up in. Unfortunately that meant we had to drive home the next day and doubly unfortunate was that I couldn't make it all the way home without getting sick in the car so we stopped at my parents house so I could rest / get more sick before we continued home.
Ryan was amazing during the whole thing and took great care of me. He even cleaned the bathroom when we got home so I could have more of a hotel-like experience should I need it. Luckily my last session was at my parents house and I haven't thrown up since.
Hopefully this was my last remaining pukefest during pregnancy. Heaving over a big belly is not at all comfortable and appears to result in some bad heartburn even after the vomiting stops.
Whine over.
