Foster is back on track with sleeping thankfully. It seems like once he started really liking food we were able to get enough into him before bed that he stays full through the night again.
During the nights when we were getting up with him more regularly I began cursing his nursery layout. When deciding where to put his crib and dressers and rocking chair, I thought very little about the noisiness of any given area. I simply went with what looked right in what space...or really what would fit where. What I should have done is walk around each area to determine the quietest spot...and then put the crib there. Instead, I seem to have selected the one spot in Foster's room where the floor boards incessantly squeak when you stand on them and plopped his crib down right next to it.
Luckily Foster is usually OK with going to bed still at least partly awake and putting himself to sleep the rest of the way. But for those times when he is not feeling that routine I'm on edge as I walk towards the crib to put him down, knowing that as I approach his crib I'll have to hope the loud squeeeeeaaaak doesn't wake him and restart our routine.
So for those of you considering a new layout of a bedroom...take a walk around it to find the squeaky spots before deciding where furniture should go.
So funny, when we babysat last night I mentioned to Dad about the squeak right by the crib, and then you wrote about it today!
