Teddy

They say not to let babies sleep with anything in their cribs. No stuffed animals, no blankets, nothing that could be a risk of suffocation. For a long time we followed that rule. Foster was so little, we didn't want to risk having him roll over or pull something over his head.

But as he got stronger we relaxed and let him take his blankies to bed (very thin swaddles that are easy to breath through even if you have them over your face). It made him so happy! For a long time his swaddle was his favorite thing for nap time and bed time. Then teddy came along. Even if he's upset when he's put down he'll calm down when teddy is snuggled up next to him.

Sometimes when Foster wakes up in the night we can see on the monitor as he flails his arms around while he looks for teddy and then rolls onto his side to wrap his arms around his stuffed friend and fall back to sleep. I hope he continues to have a strong bond with this little stuffed bear that helps him sleep well, it certainly makes it easy on us.
