Oh man, you are getting SO cute. You love to smile and coo at me, your dad and your brother. It seems like you're always happy to go with the flow. So often the rest of us are moving fast through our day and you'll so sweetly remind us that we should take 5 minutes and just goo goo ga ga with you for a bit.
You're starting to get really good at holding your head up and are almost ready to start sitting in your bumbo. You're an amazing sleeper and going at 8-10 hours at night. Your dad and I are so very lucky to have never known what it's like to have a baby who doesn't sleep well. Thank you! You also seem to have gotten over your nightly witching hour in the last few weeks and are pretty chill in the evenings before bed. If anything, you just want to nurse and spend time together after Foster goes to sleep.
You've had a busy month! You had your first camping trip at Salmon la Sac with the Kuders coming along too. You got to sleep on the new cot in our new tent. I can't wait to take you and Foster on more camping trips!
We spent on Friday afternoon hiking around on Mt Rainier, though you pretty much just slept in your moby wrap the entire time. We had one scary fall when I slipped on some rocks in the dust, but you were just fine. We also took a short hike on Cougar Mountain to enjoy all the nice weather we've been having and the time off that daddy has had from work.
You and I also spent a lot of time cuddling in your moby while Foster went swimming with daddy, and we visited parks where he can play. I'm so grateful that you are willing to be toted around. We visited Remlinger Farm and Fox Hollow Farm and both times you just nestled in for the day. We'll have to go back to all of these fun places when you and Foster can play together in them.
We've been lucky enough for you to visit with family this month too. We spent time with your cousin Veyda while Sable and Foster played at the whale water park. It's going to be so much fun to have the four of you splashing around.
You've found your hands this month and love nothing more than to shove them into your mouth and gnaw on them. Unfortunately you haven't quite mastered the skill of not extending a finger and gagging yourself...but you're working on it. It's pretty adorable when you suck your thumb; you stick it in on one side of your mouth and chew on it with your back molars...or where molars will be some day.
You also like to sleep with one hand behind your head and the other resting on a little stuffed lion that is poking through the slats in your crib. It's fun to see you starting to figure out that your limbs are attached to your body. Your legs are still a mystery for now. You kick them and shove them straight out in a funny, awkward stand. It makes it hard to carry you sometimes but also makes me think you're going to be really strong one day.
Your dad and I are so very excited to get you know you more each day.
Lots of love,
Mom
