No more guessing

After hearing that the baby's heartrate was at 146 (had been at 160 and closer to 180 earlier) mom correctly guessed that baby Buchan is going to be a boy.

Everything on our ultrasound was normal with baby still trending a little bigger than expected at this age (which equates to being about 12 oz. instead of 10 oz. right now). We got to see the heart, brain, kidneys, stomach and bladder. We were able to see the blood flowing in and out via the umbilical cord and see where the cord attaches to the placenta. All looked good.

The only concern that came back at all was a slightly shorter femur than expected (which is .91 instead of .95 with anything bigger than .92 is normal). The doctor says this is nothing to worry about as it's a very minor marker of any concern like downs. With all of our friends who have experienced minor markers during their ultrasounds and then had nothing wrong and the confidence of our doctor really really not worried.

I don't think we'll have any more ultrasounds before the birth and we're nearly at the halfway point...crazy!
