The plan was for Foster to spend the week with my parents while Ryan and I went to Whistler with the Buchans. But after a few months of bad sleeping, Oma coming to Whistler this year, and Foster getting his molars in we decided to have Foster come with us so my parents wouldn't be up every night and Oma would get a chance to see Foster as well.
We headed up to Whistler on Wednesday afternoon and made it up there after having dinner along the way. Foster did a pretty good job on the road but was definitely done with his car seat by the time we got up there.
We had Foster sleeping in our room with us and it was pretty much awful. He would be too pumped to sleep and too excited to have mom and dad in the room with him. We essentially either had him up and crawling all over us or asleep and kicking us. Either way, we weren't sleeping. I don't know how people can get any sleep and have their kids in bed with them...maybe they have kids who require less real estate in the bed.
The days were great. Foster got to play with Sable all day and Ryan and I got to visit with family and Spencer. We went skiing one day and conditions were pretty lousy. There were ice warnings and only a few runs were even open. It was nice to get out and give it a go....but not worth the price of a lift ticket by any means. We took Foster out to the village one night to see the lights. He loved it. He was a little confused by how cold his cheeks got, but I bet it felt nice on those molars coming in. He had a great time playing in the snow the next day...even if it was all machine made. Looking forward to getting him on skis some day!
